Kyrah Thumbadoo, a researcher from the School of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, is the 2022 winner of the Hilary Holloway Prize.

The prize is named after former BIRU staff member, Hilary Holloway, who retired in 2019.

The winning image entitled 'Human connection' won unanimous agreement from the competition judges and also seemed appropriate for the times.

It was acquired on an EVOS FL Auto 2 at 20x magnification in channels 488, 594, and 647 at the School of Biological Sciences.

Kyrah received her award in person from former BIRU Director Dr Gus Grey, at the annual BIRU Research Celebration on Thursday 24 November.
