Dr E. J. Loef, a researcher from the School of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, is the 2021 winner of the Hilary Holloway Prize. The prize is named after a former staff member at the BIRU who retired in 2019.

His video 'Human monocyte-derived dendritic cells and T cells migrating in a co-culture to a CCL19 gradient' won unanimous agreement from the competition judges.

It was acquired on a Nikon Ti-E motorised inverted fluorescence microscope in the School of Biological Sciences Imaging Centre.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the awards were announced on Zoom this year and E.J. was presented with his prizes in a rather informal setting outside the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
