MEDSCI 142 - Enrolment priority

The following priority reflects the limitations schedule approved by the University.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you have successfully enrolled, please do not attempt to change classes.
If you drop your enrolment, another student may take your place. We will not guarantee reinstatement into the course, or re-enrolment back into classes you have dropped yourself from.

If there is a legitimate reason why you must change streams, please e-mail Angela Tsai

Enrolment / Waitlist categories

Enrolment is guaranteed for students enrolled in the BE(Hons) in Biomedical Engineering, BHSc, BNurs, and BSc in Biomedical Science, Exercise Sciences, Food Science and Nutrition (Nutrition pathway), Pharmacology, Physiology and Medicinal Chemistry programmes.

Following this, if places remain, students from other programmes with an NCEA rank score of ≥190 or a CIE rank score of ≥180 or a GPA/GPE ≥3.5 will be enrolled on a first in, first enrolled basis.

Following this, students from other programmes and students with a score lower than 3.5 will be considered on the basis of academic ability, as measured by GPA. Please lodge a concession to be waitlisted.

If you are required to lodge a concession, then you will be ranked by GPE/GPA for enrolment. The course co-ordinator will enrol as many from the concession waitlist as possible. This will depend on the number of places that are available at the time. If you are on the concession waitlist and we have a place to offer you then we will contact you through your official University e-mail address (YourUPI@aucklanduni.ac.nz - e.g. jbon007@aucklanduni.ac.nz). You need to check this e-mail address regularly. If we can't contact you, we can't enrol you, and your place may be offered to someone else.

Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) is a figure between 0 and 9 which is assigned to you by the university when you commence studies here, and is a measure of your academic performance at school or at another university. Once you have been at The University of Auckland for a semester or more, then your grades are used to calculate a Grade Point Average (GPA) which replaces the GPE.
