Master of Health Practice - Health Promotion

The Health Promotion specialisation was developed in recognition of the need for an advanced postgraduate qualification for health professionals who are moving into leadership roles in this area.

Programme structure

Students doing a 120 point masters are required to enrol in and complete the following courses:

  • POPLHLTH 700 - Community Health Development (15 Points)
  • POPLHLTH 733 - Health Promotion Theory and Models (15 points)
  • POPLHLTH 734 - Health Promotion Strategies (15 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 710 - Community Health Development Practicum (15 Points)

and

60 point dissertation

or

45 points: HLTHSCI 795 Project

with 15 points from:

Students doing a 180 point masters are required to enrol in and complete the following courses:

  • POPLHLTH 700 - Community Health Development (15 Points)
  • POPLHLTH 722 - Organisation of Health Systems (15 Points)
  • POPLHLTH 733 - Health Promotion Theory and Models (15 points)
  • POPLHLTH 734 - Health Promotion Strategies (15 Points)
