Interactive and applied courses aimed at strengthening skills in a particular area. Courses last from 1 to 3 days and are taught by experts in their field. Participants benefit from a multifaceted learning approach combining useful strategies such as presentations, discussion, design, and group activities, ensuring a practical and thorough understanding of course contents.

Teaching and learning in the clinical setting

Dates of workshops in 2024: 6-7 June, 25-26 July and 28-29 November (venue Grafton Campus, Park Road)

Curriculum design and teaching support


We offer training services for healthcare educators and clinical teachers based within the University as well as other organisations. We can offer a range of bespoke training courses or workshops, or design individual programmes to meet specific needs. We have access to a wide network of clinical educators, teachers, trainers and researchers. Training and development for health professionals is offered on a range of topics including (but not limited to):

  • Training needs analysis
  • Curriculum and programme development
  • Assessment of learning
  • Workplace based learning
  • Simulation
  • Clinical and educational leadership
  • Interprofessional education
  • Qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research methodology
  • Development of measurement instruments/psychometrics
  • Peer review of teaching - CMHSE teaching staff are available upon request to undertake peer reviews of your teaching.
