Plastic Surgery Research Group


The goals of the Plastic Surgery Research Group are to develop and support academic pursuits within Plastic Surgery. We aim to advance the speciality of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and to improve the care and long term outcomes of Plastic Surgery patients.

Areas of research interest

The group’s research interest include:

  • Adipose derived human stem cells and their use in Plastic Surgery
  • Dermal progenitor cells and their role in wound healing
  • Cellular dysfunction in skin diseases
  • Full thickness skin engineering for major burn patient
  • Facilitating wound healing
  • Translation of laboratory research to clinical use
