Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Palliative Care

The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (PGDipHSc) in Palliative Care is offered by the Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care in the School of Population Health.

Students are required to enrol in, and complete, the following courses.

At least 90 points from:

  • POPLHLTH 746 - Ethics Culture and Societal Appraoches to Death (15 Points)
  • POPLHLTH 747 - Loss, Grief, and Bereavement (15 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 701 - Therapeutic Communication (15 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 720 - Psychosocial issues in Palliative Care (15 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 722 - Symptom Management in Palliative Care (15 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 723 - Advanced Symptom Management in Palliative Care (15 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 724 - Child and Adolescent Palliative Care (15 points)      

a 15 point research course from:

and a 15 point optional course from the Master of Health Sciences Schedule
