Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Mental Health Nursing

The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (PGDipHSc) in Mental Health Nursing is aimed at practitioners entering mental health nursing as well as those experienced in mental health nursing practice. There are courses for practitioners in their first year of practice, and for those preparing for advanced practice and nurse practitioner roles. 

This specialisation is offered by the School of Nursing. Courses in this specialisation are offered in a Flexible learning format.

  • NURSING 774 - Nursing People in Acute Mental Health Crisis (30 Points)
  • NURSING 776 - Advanced Assessment in MHN (30 Points)
  • NURSING 782 - Research Methods in Nursing and Health (30 Points)
  • NURSING 785 - Clinical Reasoning in Pharmacotherapeutics (30 Points)
  • NURSPRAC 717 - Special Topic: Practicum for RN Designated Prescribers
  • NURSPRAC 718 - Contemporary Mental Health and Addictions Nursing Practice (30 Points)
  • NURSPRAC 719 - Clinical Practice in Mental Health and Addictions (30 Points)
  • POPLPRAC 761 - Mental Health in Old Age 
  • Other courses approved by the Head of the School of Nursing.
