Hello, my name is Michelle O’Hanlon and I am an Optometrist working at the University of Auckland Optometry Clinic. I graduated in 2008 and have provided quality comprehensive eye examinations in private optometry practices before moving to the University of Auckland School of Optometry and Visual Science. I teach and lecture the sub speciatly topic of low vision for the Optometry students and supervise and provide care in the general Optometry Clinic and Vision Enhancement Clinic. I thoroughly enjoy seeing smiles on patient’s faces when they can reach their goals such as reading their recipes with the assistance of low vision aids. I also delight in providing eye care for the elderly, taking the time to explain recommendations, rule out various eye conditions more common with age and provide visual advice for their hobbies. I visit the Blind Foundation regularly to provide magnification, CCTV assistance and general daily living assistance to their members.
