Who we are

The Centre for Asian and Ethnic Minority Health Research and Evaluation (CAHRE) is a research centre at the School of Population Health, University of Auckland.

We have a strong focus on the current health issues of Asian and other Ethnic Minority communities in New Zealand and seeks to develop strategic ways to improve and visualise the health status of this fast-growing population. It also values partnerships with other research academics to further its goals.

The centre acknowledges Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the founding document of New Zealand and it provides a foundation for other ethnic groups and newcomers as they settle in New Zealand. CAHRE is committed to supporting Te Tiriti Waitangi principles: Protection, Partnership, and Participation in all its activities.
