AMRF Medical Sciences Learning Centre - Whakaaro Pai

The AMRF Medical Sciences Learning Centre is a purpose-built and architecturally designed facility for education in anatomy, radiology and pathology.

Biomedical Engineering

Excellent mechanical and electronic workshops used to develop and construct specialist equipment for research and teaching projects.

Biomedical Imaging Research Unit

The Biomedical Imaging Research Unit (BIRU) provides research infrastructure and support including light, confocal and electron microscopy, as well as imaging mass spectrometry and FACS.

Grafton Clinical Genomics

Grafton Clinical Genomics (GCG) is a shared genomics facility with high-end research equipment including: MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometer, NanoString n-Counter, Ion Torrent and Illumina Next Generation Sequencers (NGS).

Histology Laboratory

The Histology Laboratory offers basic and advanced histological and
immunohistochemical processing for all human and animal tissues.

Human Anatomy Laboratories

Our Human Anatomy Laboratories are used for world-class medical and biomedical science teaching and research, underpinned by our dedicated Human Body Bequest Programme.

In Vivo Imaging

MaSH - Mass Spectrometry Hub

The Mass Spectrometry Hub pulls together researchers from across the university to provide world leading knowledge and analysis support using a large collection of mass spectrometry equipment.

Neurological Foundation Human Brain Bank

The Neurological Foundation Human Brain Bank is a world-class scientific resource unique to the Centre for Brain Research. It is internationally recognised for neuroscience research.

PC3 Facility

We house one of the few PC3 facilities in New Zealand that enable research of high risk organisms such as Tuberculosis (TB).

Te Ira Kāwai – Auckland Regional Biobank (ARB)  

Te Ira Kāwai – Auckland Regional Biobank (ARB) is a collection of tissue samples and some relevent clinical information about the samples that have been donated by patients to support ethically approved medical research.   

Zebrafish Facility
