Funding bodies for the ACSRC
Cancer Society Auckland Northland provides core funding for the ACSRC's work. This funding is supplemented by competitive research grants from a wide variety of agencies, including:
- The Health Research Council of New Zealand
- Cancer Society of New Zealand
- The Auckland Medical Research Foundation
- The Marsden Fund (Royal Society of NZ)
- Cancer Research Trust NZ
- Maurice Wilkins Centre for Molecular Biodiscovery
- Lottery Health
- Breast Cancer Foundation NZ
- The Wellcome Trust
- The United States National Cancer Institute
Commercial contracts with a number of companies also provide significant support, with current or completed contracts from Seattle Genetics (US), Xenova (UK), Cancer Research Campaign Technology (UK), Pfizer (US), Genentech (US), Antisoma (UK), Supergen (US), Cerus Corp (US), Convert Pharmaceuticals (Belgium), Novartis (US), Onyx (US) and Rain Therapeutics (US).
The ACSRC has also generated start-up companies through Auckland UniServices: KEA Therapeutics, Pathway Therapeutics, Proacta Inc. These have also supported research in the Centre.
