Fees, finance and accommodation

A non-refundable administration fee of NZ$1,500.00 including Goods and Services Tax (GST) is payable on acceptance of the formal offer of placement from the Overseas Elective Coordinator.

Fees are payable via credit card only on acceptance of an attachment in Auckland. Online Payment instructions will be provided once a placement has been secured and an offer made. Once we receive the administration fee the attachment will be confirmed and finalised.

No funds are available to support elective attachments. The cost of travel and accommodation must be covered by the elective student. No salary is available. Research funding is available only when specifically arranged with a preceptor prior to taking up the appointment.

The University of Auckland is not able to assist Overseas Elective Students with accommodation in University Halls of Residence. Information on accommodation may be sought from the Overseas Electives Coordinator once a student has been accepted as an Overseas Electives Student.
