Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health in Māori Health

The Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (PGDipPH),specialising in Māori Health, is available to students with an undergraduate degree (or equivalent professional qualification and practical experience). Students who have completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health may apply to credit the 60 points to this programme.

This programme is offered by the School of Population Health, and is taught and assessed entirely by coursework. Some courses in this subject area are offered in a flexible learning format

Students wishing to complete the PGDipPH in Māori Health are required to enrol and complete the following courses:

30 points from:

  • MAORIHTH 705 - Māori Health Promotion and Early Intervention (15 Points) Not currently offered.
  • MAORIHTH 706 - Māori Health: Policy and Practice (15 Points)
  • MAORIHTH 709 - Transformational Research for Māori Health (15 Points)
  • MAORIHTH 711 - Special Topic (15 Points)
  • another course approved by the Head of School

Students who have completed the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Health Sciences must choose an alternative course from the Master of Public Health Schedule to replace POPLHLTH 760. POPLHLTH 760 cannot be counted towards a public health programme for BHSc graduates.
