Centre for Brain Research Advisory Board Member Wendy Fleming becomes Royal Society Te Apārangi Companion (CRSNZ)

Centre for Brain Research Advisory Board member Wendy Fleming recently became Royal Society Te Apārangi Companion (CRSNZ), along with five other New Zealand women recognised for their contribution to science and humanities.

Wendy has a background in nursing and aged care and has spent decades advocating for people living with dementia and their families. She has promoted the need for quality care for people living with dementia and for world class scientific research into dementia.

As a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for Brain Research, Wendy has helped shape and guide the direction of the Centre. Wendy is also a member of the Advisory Board for Brain Research New Zealand (BRNZ), Honorary Vice President of Alzheimer’s Disease International, past Chair of Alzheimer’s New Zealand and has provided input into the Ageing Well National Science Challenge to promote research on the ageing brain.
