CAMRI staff

Our team has extensive experience in MRI, including the management (as principal investigators), performance and analysis (as core laboratory) of large scale international clinical trials.

Our pool of consultant radiologists are highly qualified in their specific areas of interest. Their combined experience covers all areas of MR imaging, and CAMRI's comprehensive range of software allows post processing analysis in specialty imaging.

Charge MR Technologist

Anna Lydon DCR(R) BHSc, PGDipMRI

Anna qualified as a diagnostic radiographer (DCR R) at King's College Hospital in London in 1990. Since then she has worked in London, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, primarily in cardiac catheterisation suites & vascular radiology. In 2000 she began her career in MRI at Mercy Hospital in Auckland, a private hospital specialising in cardiology and oncology services. This prompted a change in career direction moving from angiography to full-time MRI. In 2004 Anna began working at the Centre for Advanced MRI at the University of Auckland, where she continues to enjoy cardiovascular imaging and being involved in exciting research using fMRI. Anna completed her BHSc in 1998 (CIT, Wellington) and the Post Graduate Diploma in MRI through Unitec, Auckland in 2007

She gained further experience working in London, Wellington, Wairoa, Saudi Arabia, before returning to Auckland to train in CT scanning and angiography. She began her MRI training in 2000 at Auckland Hospital, and moved to private practice at Manukau Radiology in 2005. She completed a post graduate diploma in Medical Radiation Science specialising in MRI at Sydney University  in 2007. In 2009 she decided to join the Centre for Advanced MRI for a new challenge in cardiovascular and research imaging, and to enjoy the new technology of both the Siemens Avanto 1.5T and Skyra 3.0T magnets.

MR Technologist

Andrea Champion PGDip MRI, BHSc (MI)
