Rankings confirm the University of Auckland as New Zealand’s tertiary leader

The 2014 QS World University Rankings by Subject confirms the high international standing of the University of Auckland with the University making the top 200 in 29 of the 30 disciplines ranked. Of particular note for the University of Auckland is the high ranking (39th) which Pharmacy and Pharmacology has retained this year, while Biological Sciences ranked 46th, Psychology 34th and Medicine was ranked well in the top 100. The University of Auckland also had Accounting and Finance, Politics, Law, Education, Linguistics, English and Modern Languages in the top 50.

In all, 800 universities were ranked by QS this year using the academic reputation survey, employer reputation survey and research citations data, this methodology aiming to give an indication of the universities which are held in highest esteem for a particular subject, and which are also publishing the most influential research in each subject.
