Ngaire is a champion for primary care of the elderly and much of her research activity is concentrated in this area. Ngaire was a recipient of a Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellowship in 2002 - 2003, and was last year awarded a Distinguished Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs. Presently Ngaire is undertaking a Hood Fellowship in the US and will return to take up the new post in February.
