Interpreting the results of next generation sequencing remains challenging for clinicians and scientists alike.

Therefore, we are running a cancer next generation sequencing interpretation workshop.

This workshop is suitable for clinicians, genetic counsellors, medical laboratory scientists and translational researchers with all levels of experience.

A small amount of pre-reading will be provided for participants new to these technologies.

The workshop will include:

  • Summaries of scientific and clinical aspects of genomic changes in cancer, and of the laboratory and bioinformatic processes required for next generation sequencing.
  • Brief vignettes from companies showing what technologies are available now and what are on the horizon.
  • Interactive discussions about the interpretation of germline and somatic gene variants in cancer.
  • Participants will work through several examples where they interpret cancer next generation sequencing data.
