Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is the global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research.

Every March, BAW unites the efforts of partner organisations worldwide in a celebration of the brain for people of all ages. Activities are limited only by the organizers’ imaginations and include open days at neuroscience labs; exhibitions about the brain; lectures on brain-related topics; social media campaigns; displays at libraries and community centers; classroom workshops; and more. This was initated by the Dana Foundation of New York, USA.

The Centre for Brain Research (CBR) has joined this international awareness campaign, since its inception in 2010.  See our website for details of this years Brian Day.

The Neurological Foundation of New Zealand is an official parnter to Brain Awareness Week.
