Speaker: Professor Victor Ferrari, Director, Cardiovascular Imaging Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania

Professor Vic Ferrari is Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Secretary of the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He is a leading expert on the characterization of pulmonary hypertension, infarction, and valvular disease using MRI, echocardiography and PET/SPECT techniques in pre-clinical models and clinical disease states.

His research interests include studying cardiac morphology and function using slp-76, HOP, and N-cadherin transgenic models;  evaluation of stem cell localization after intravenous injection or intracardiac implantation of stem cells; assessment of atherosclerosis in pre-clinical models of disease; and the use of MRI, CT, and echo in the evaluation of adult congenital heart disease.
