Phillippa Poole is Professor of Medicine and Head of the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, The University of Auckland. She was Associate Dean (Medical Programme) from 1999-2009, and still practises as a general physician at ADHB.  One of her passions is ensuring medical student attributes and experiences match current and anticipated health demands in Aotearoa / New Zealand.

Using examples from her personal experience and research, this lecture will explore issues in contemporary medical workforce development, including medical student selection, education and career choice.
