PharmaTell seminar: Pharmacists and Health Literacy - Why me? Event as iCalendar

03 October 2013

12 - 1pm

Venue: Room 505-364, Building 505, 85 Park Road, Grafton

Globally, concern about health literacy has reached ‘epidemic’ proportions. Health literacy is a term with many definitions but essentially it is understood to be about how individuals get information about health, how they come to understand it and how this understanding influences the decisions they make about their health.

The Health Quality Safety Commission (HQSC) undertook a project to develop, trial, and evaluate a health literacy learning package designed for staff in two community pharmacies. This presentation from the HQSC will discuss the findings from these demonstration sites and position them in the context of education and training for pharmacists and implications for all health professionals.

Presented by: Ms Linda Gilbert, Dr Chris Walsh, Ms Nirasha Parsotam and Kula Alapaki
