Trio Pohádka and Friends present a benefit concert for Cancer Society Auckland Event as iCalendar

20 July 2013

7 - 9pm

Trio Pohadka and Friends consists of a mix of a professional musician, three medical students, a doctor and a cancer researcher who enjoy working together and are passionate about promoting high quality music to all audiences and help to fight against the cancer.

At this concert you will witness six musicians in four different combinations ranging from trios to quintets performing a unique blend of old and new spanning over 300 years of music. You will hear masterworks by Robert Schumann and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart together with rarely performed, but striking pieces by French impressionist Melanie Bonis and American-Jewish composer Paul Schoenfield.

We also have one very special guest on the night, Prof Bruce Baguley, Co-director of Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre and without any doubt one of the most important figures of New Zealand Cancer Research. Bruce will show you that his passion doesn’t lie only in science.
