The academic motivation and well-being of NZ Medical Students.

Intrinsic motivation for learning has been researched in many domains but its applications to medical training are rare despite its potential significance for students. This presentation will offer new insights for medical training in terms of optimal learning and well-being.

Presented by: Dr Mataroria Lyndon

Medical students and perceptions of their clinical learning environment.

This presentation explores whether fourth and fifth year students from diverse demographic groups perceive their learning experiences differently whilst on clinical rotation. Evidence suggests that medical students within different subgroups respond differently to their clinical learning environment thus identifying student groups that may have unique culturally responsive needs.
