12 - 1pm

Venue: Room 505-364, Building 505, 85 Park Road, Grafton

While efforts are being taken to more fully integrate pharmacists in primary health care as a means of improving the public’s health and reducing drug-related iatrogenesis, evidence of improvement in health outcomes from pharmacists’ inputs is mixed. This presentation involves a critical analysis of two published articles using different methodological approaches but reporting unfavourable findings regarding pharmacists’ impacts. Discussion is aimed at consideration of alternative designs to assess pharmacists’ work. Peri Ballantyne is a health sociologist with an interest in the place and politics of medicines – and in relations among the various players in the field of medication-related health care.
