Over a decade ago international calls were made for a threshold improvement in patient safety. Recent years have seen substantial safety improvements in certain areas, and teamwork communication is key to this success.

Keynote Speaker:

Professor Lorelei Lingard

Professor Lingard is a well-known and widely regarded world expert in multidisciplinary collaboration and teamwork in health care. Her areas of expertise include understanding the connection between teamwork failures and surgical complications, inter-professional relations in clinical teams and effective handover during the patient care journey. She is Director of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry Centre for Education Research and Innovation, and Professor in the Department of Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Western Ontario
