Canada’s Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) was created as a pri-vately held, non-profit organization with the necessary infrastructure and expertise (both technical and business) to mature commercially-promising discoveries such that they are able to attract the critical investment to ensure successful commercialization. CDRD has been able to successfully realize its vision of becoming Canada’s first uni-fied approach to commercializing academic life sciences discoveries that have thera-peutic potential to enable the growth of the biopharmaceutical industry – and has grown from a regional centre to an entity with affiliations across the country and around the globe.
The scope of our organization’s development path will be re-viewed, challenges shared and our future directions discussed.
