The Neural Control of Blood Pressure - Translating into Treatments Fiona McBryde has been working for several years at the University of Bristol with Professors Julian Paton and Sergey Kasparov.
Her recent work has had a strong translational theme, examining the mechanisms and possibilities of deep brain stimulation, and carotid body ablation in reducing blood pressure. Both of these projects are now developing into first-into-man clinical studies, and hold much promise for future non-pharmacologic treatments for hypertension.
