The following research groups and units operate in Social and Community Health.

• Centre for Asian and Ethnic Minority Health Research (CAHRE)
  The CAHRE has a vision for international collaboration with individual researchers and organisations from Asian countries.
• Community Empowerment in Pacific Peoples (CEPP)
  The CEPP project is being used to develop a better understanding of community empowerment to support the design of a further public health and health promotion programmes in Pacific peoples. 
• Centre for Gambling Studies (CGS)
  The CGS is committed to providing independent and quality research and learning to minimise harm from gambling and to promote gambling related wellbeing in communities.
• Centre for Tobacco Control Research (CTCR)
• Health Research Methods Advisory Service (HRMAS)
  During 1997 and 2006 the Advisory Service provided an occasional newsletter, research methods workshops and this website as a resource for health and social science researchers.
• Global Health Group
  The Global Health Group combines the efforts of School of Population Health staff working in an international setting with a specific focus on the Pacific and Asian region.
• Resilient Ageing 
  The Resilient Ageing in Place project is to provide  a resource for our research participants’ views and recommendations to be shared with policy-makers, service-providers, researchers, friends, whānau, and all of us who are growing older.
