Reducing Smoking Initiation
-
Keeping Kids Smokefree (KKS) is a community intervention aimed at the parents of intermediate school children and funded by the Health Research Council. KKS coordinators work with schools, parents and community groups to develop effective ways to reduce children's uptake of smoking. It is also hoped that the intervention will reduce the number of parents who smoke,
resulting in more smokefree homes.
The KKS project is one of the founding projects of the Centre for Tobacco Control
Research and is part of a Health Research Council (HRC) funded programme
