Research and activites in the wider Pacific region
The Pacific Health Section is actively involved in research and activities in
the wider Pacific region including:
Rheumatic fever burden of disease in Samoa (Dr T Percival) - Collaborative
project with Dr John Adams (Samoa) Dr Teuila Percival, Prof Dianna Lennon
looking at the amount of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in
Samoa alsong with associated morbidity;
- Children Nutrition Survey, Tokelau (Dr T Percival) - Preliminary work underway
to undertake a nutrition survey of children in Tokelau;
- Child Health Clinical indicators for the Pacific (Dr T Percival) - Collaborative
research project with paediatricians in Samoa and Tonga to develop clinically
relevant and functional child health indicators for the Pacific.
