While the centre's primary focus is on publicly funded research, the skills of researchers at the centre are also available to the public and private organisations under contract, where the services required accord with the centre's research priorities and Aims

Research priorities

The centre's research priorities are:

  • the development of methodological issues in Pacific health research
  • sociological, economic and political factors that affect Pacific peoples' health
  • SUDI epidemiology and prevention
  • health service utilisation
  • the evaluation of provision, organisation and delivery of health services, particularly to Pacific peoples
  • child health
  • social, cultural and economic determinants of disease.
