The Health Systems Section, which was established in 2003 as part of the new School of Population Health, is involved in health services research and education. There are around 30 people in the section, including 8 full-time academics, research fellows and assistants, and Masters and PhD thesis students. See Current staff for details. We also regularly host visiting academics and students from other countries.
The section is multi-disciplinary and includes expertise in health economics, health policy and management, health services research, programme evaluation, organisational behaviour, systems modelling and medical and health ethics.
Our aim is to advance understanding of the structure, processes and effects of health services and health policy, with a view to the more effective management and delivery of services and a more efficient and equitable health system.
