The SPAN zip file unzips to occupy about 5
MB. Simply unzip, using Winzip, to a directory of your
own choosing.
2.1 SPAN on the internet
The most up-to-date version of SPAN will be available from here. It will be an unregistered
version. This means it will only analyse the first 100 records of data.
When you choose to register SPAN by sending an email to rj.marshall@auckland.ac.nz,
you will be assigned
a registration number. Enter this into the SPAN programme via Help:Register,
and the 100 record restriction will be released.
2.2 Version
There are no "versions" to SPAN; it is regularly updated and hopefully improved.
The zip
file that is downloaded from the internet site will be the most recent.
When SPAN is run a logo window initially appears and is minimised with the title
caption SPAN #00.... The number here is a reference, to be cited in communications
with me.
