School of Population Health Epidemiology and Biostatistics - enHealth

enHealth is a collaborative partnership of many organisations within the Auckland region established in 2002. It is about bridging the gap between research centres and environmental health professionals in order to improve evidence based practice through a collaborative and strategic approach.

Its mission is to provide a network forum for exchange of ideas and information between environmental health stakeholders in the Auckland region.

Its aim is to identify and facilitate addressing environmental health policy research needs to enhance human health.

enHealth has established a strategic partnership between environmental health stakeholders in the Auckland region and brings these stakeholders together across the range of subjects that encompass environmental health, so as to enhance human health and quality of life.

Its goals are to achieve collective communication, training and research through a shared vision and one voice.

enHealth is coordinated by Mark Lyne and chaired by Professor Alistair Woodward, Head of the School of Population Health.

  • provision of a sustainable partnership of key environmental health stakeholders
  • increasing the participation of stakeholders
  • enhancing information sharing.

2. To increase the skills and capacity of the environmental health workforce through:

  • improved research and development
  • workforce planning to meet future needs and challenges
  • enhanced workforce training.

3. To support decision making ability through:

  • facilitation of environmental health policy research and development
  • strengthening the evidence base
  • provision of a comprehensive research information system
  • provision of  an advocacy role in environmental health.
