We plan an annual workshop on an aspect of health informatics, inviting international
guest speakers to share their knowledge with us and our audience.
If you want to be included on our email address list for the NIHI News so that
you can enrol in our next workshop when we announce it, please contact us using
the details below.
Upcoming workshops
The next workshop is planned for the last week of October, after the ISHIMR and
HINZ conferences, when you are invited to join us and get to know some international
health informatics experts better. Watch this space for more information.
Past workshop topics
- 2007: The role of communication in health informatics
"This was a really good opportunity to meet up with people and talk about things
that really concern us," said a researcher from the School of Population Health
who had decided on the spur of the moment to attend and discovered that the topic
was relevant to his research in a different field.
- 2006: Knowledge management
"It was so interesting to hear about the grand challenges of knowledge management
and how simple things like knowledge mining of clinical emails could be put to good
use for doctors in any setting," said a GP who had attended because of his interest
in how documented networking could be of help, rather than be wasted.
Seminars
Periodically, as the opportunity arises, we host seminars and/or present on a health
informatics topic at seminars.
