Linking commercial health technology providers with academic and research facilities, the
institute will operate at the forefront of the New Zealand, and global, health informatics field. The
institute will provide an entrepreneurial environment in which innovative technology and health information systems can be researched, developed and released into the market. Hosted within New Zealand’s leading research-based University, the
institute’s unique structure will allow participant companies, organisations, tertiary institutions and individuals the opportunity to conceive, research and develop innovative health solutions. Collaborative and multi-disciplinary research involving industry, national and international academia and government will bring together stakeholders, end users and health providers under one roof. Fast tracking ideas and concepts in a coordinated framework will facilitate the development and delivery of innovation to the populations most in need.
