The Centre for Asian and Ethnic Minority Health Research has several goals:
- to establish a centre of national and international excellence in understanding
health issues affecting Asian and other Ethnic Minority communities
- to cultivate an inter-disciplinary approach to studying Asian and other Ethnic Minority health
- to provide research-based information to enhance the capacity of health services in delivering effective and culturally appropriate interventions
- to conduct research that can foster health amongst Asians and other Ethnic Minorities in New Zealand
- to collaborate with Asian and other Ethnic Minority communities, business, local government, and ministries
to further research in the areas of Asian and other Ethnic Minority health
- to build a new focal point of exchange on Asian and other Ethnic Minority health with both the local and international
research communities
- to disseminate and analyse the outcomes of relevant Asian and other Ethnic Minority health research.
