AnQual Laboratories is part of the
School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences Grafton
Campus. It has been established with a grant from the
Tertiary Education Commission and with significant support
from The University of Auckland.
AnQual is an initiative to establish teaching, research, and training capabilities
and systems to support regulatory compliance with new and existing medicines.
AnQual
is a registered Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliant analytical laboratory,
offering both GLP and non-GLP studies. AnQual works in
close collaboration with drug discovery research groups, pharmaceutical and
biotechnological companies and academic institutions to determine the
qualitative and quantitative composition of a pure drug or formulation. It also
conducts bioanalysis, ie, assays to determine
drug concentrations in body fluids during pre-clinical toxicological and human clinical
studies. These steps are essential in the development of marketable medicines and
must be accomplished to the standards required by the regulatory authorities.
