Surgical Research at the Waikato Clinical School involves mainly research into the management of Breast Cancer, Vascular Surgery and Paediatric Surgery. Leading academics include: Mr Ian Campbell (Breast Surgeon), Mr Thodur Vasudevan (Vascular Surgery) and Mrs Udaya Samarakkody and Mr Askar Kukkady (Paediatric Surgeons). The Department of Surgery has been fortunate to have a surgical Research Fellow funded through the department at The University of Auckland for the previous three years.
