The Surgical Research Network (SRN) aims to enhance the research capacity of
surgeons, scientists and students working within the field of surgery.
The SRN is based in the Department of Surgery at The University of Auckland, New
Zealand's pre-eminent research-led University, ranked in the top 50 universities
in Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Health (48) by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The Network is comprised of senior academic clinicians and scientists associated
with the Department of Surgery, academic collaborators working within and
outside the University, postgraduate research fellows, and clinicians and
affiliates working in the New Zealand health system.
Our mission
The specific goals of the SRN are to:
- Encourage enrolment of postgraduate students into Masters and PhD programmes in
Surgery;
- Provide scientific, administrative and financial support for surgical research;
- Strengthen collaborative links within and across the academic, professional and
commercial surgical community; and
- Facilitate contract and commercial research.
