banner

Our research aims to initiate, strengthen and promote excellence in care for Pacific women.

The Pacific Women’s Health Research and Development Unit (PWHRDU) is based at the South Auckland Clinical School at Middlemore Hospital. The PWHRDU was established in 2006 as a joint venture by The University of Auckland’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Counties Manukau District Health Board.

The Unit focuses on improving the health of Pacific women by developing a capability in research that informs policy and service delivery, and by facilitating Pacific workforce development in women’s health.
