Eye Bank Manager Wins the General Staff Excellence in Leadership Award
Louise Moffatt, the New Zealand National Eye Bank Manager, won the 2009 University
of Auckland General Staff Excellence in Leadership Award.
Louise has developed the New Zealand National Eye
Bank (NZNEB) into an organisation that is well respected within the corneal
and eye banking community throughout Australia and New Zealand. She has raised the
profile of the service internationally. Louise has been instrumental in ensuring
that the NZNEB is a self sustaining organisation receiving appropriate government
funding and remuneration for services and is no longer reliant on charitable donations.
She ensures that her team has up to date protocols and utilises evidence-based practice
guaranteeing a high quality service is delivered to all New Zealanders.
