The Department of Medicine within the School of Medicine is responsible for a major
component of the faculty's clinical teaching. With a staff of more than 100, the
department supports a network of clinical teachers throughout Auckland's hospitals
and the Waikato.
The Department of Medicine is responsible for teaching in all disciplines of internal
medicine. These include cardiology, neurology, respiratory and sleep medicine,
endocrinology, gastroenterology, rheumatology and renal medicine.
Mission statement:
- to undertake research and teaching of the highest possible standard in all disciplines
of medicine and contribute to the delivery of high quality medical healthcare in
Auckland and beyond.
