A 1 1/2 day course for senior Orthopaedic Trainees.

Lectures, surgery viewing and practical hands-on training will give the registrants a thorough knowledge of this common condition.

This is a 2 ½ day certificate course combining skin cancer knowledge, surgical techniques and dermoscopy with an optional multiple choice exam. It is aimed at primary care practitioners who manage skin cancer in their own practices.

This course has been endorsed by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) & has been approved for up to 15.5 educational hours = up to 31 credits for Advanced Vocational Education (AVE) & Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) purposes

This course will provide a solid grounding in the principles of assisting in surgery and allow opportunities to develop manual skills. The 1 ¾ days will comprise lectures, manual skills training using organic tissue, a cadaver anatomy session and live animal surgery simulation in association with junior doctors attending the Open Stapling Workshop. Participants are required to have at least 18 months experience in operating theatre work with a component of at least 12 months in abdominal or gynaecological surgery.

This 1 and  ½ day course is for nurses currently working in general surgery or gynaecology and who have at least 18 months theatre experience. Lectures, practical training and surgery simulation provide the essential skills needed for camera operators and assistants.
