School of Medical Sciences Undergraduate enrolment FAQs

Why can’t I access Student Services Online?

  1. Check that Student Services Online is currently working because at peak times there could be outages which means nobody can do any work on it.
  2. Check that your NetAccount login is correct and activated.
  3. Email ndevahelp@auckland.ac.nz for help

Why can’t I enrol online in any physiology course?

  1. You may not meet the prerequisites.
To apply for a waiver of prerequisite, complete a SCO2 form and submit to:

    Department of Physiology
    The University of Auckland
    Private Bag 92019
    Auckland

    or fax to 373 7911.
Ensure that your contact details are provided in case we need to get in touch with you. SCO2 forms are processed by the department and once approved by the Head of Department and stamped with the departmental stamp, it is forwarded to the Faculty of Science which has the authority to give the final decision. Once approved by the faculty, the student is enrolled manually by the faculty enrolment staff. You need to check you class list on Student Services Online from time to time to check your enrolment status.
  2. The class may be full. For class limits, please refer to the class limits table below. You may ask to be placed on the waitlist – please email the department at physiology@auckland.ac.nz
  3. You may be trying to enrol in too many points. You are allowed a maximum of 120 points only per semester.

Why was I put on the waitlist?

  • You do not meet the minimum cumulative (overall) GPA required, please refer to the prerequisites table.

How are waitlists processed and when are they acted upon?

  1. Waitlisted students are ranked according to their cumulative GPAs. Once enrolled students withdraw from the course and create available spaces, waitlisted students will be moved into the course according to their ranking.
  2. In January, 80% of the class will be filled up. In February, 90% of the class will be filled up. The remaining 10% will be filled up during the first two weeks of classes. Please note that due to Physiology courses being limited entry courses, even students with high GPAs cannot be enrolled when the class is already full.

What do I do when I cannot enrol online due to a timetable clash?

  • Complete an SCO3 form, and submit to:

    Department of Physiology
    The University of Auckland
    Private Bag 92019
    Auckland

    or fax to 373 7911.
Ensure that your contact details are provided in case we need to get in touch with you.
