The HRC is the major government-funded agency responsible for purchasing and co-ordinating

- Cancer Society of New Zealand
The Cancer Society of New Zealand is the leading organisation dedicated to reducing
the incidence of cancer and ensuring the best cancer care for everyone in New Zealand.
- Neurological Foundation of New Zealand
The Neurological Foundation of New Zealand is an independent body that raises money
to support neurological research and education in New Zealand. The Foundation is
funded by individual New Zealanders, with more than 95% of contributions coming
from donations and bequests.
- National Heart Foundation
The Heart Foundation is the charity that leads the fight for heart health for all
New Zealanders.
- National Child Health Research Foundation
Turning research into hope for many thousands of children throughout New Zealand.
- Lotteries Health Board
The Lotteries Health Research committee funds research projects that will improve
the health status of New Zealanders.
- Auckland Medical Research Foundation
The Auckland Medical Research Foundation is an independent organisation committed
to the promotion of medical research in Auckland. The purpose of the Foundation
is to improve the health of New Zealanders through funding the highest quality medical
research of all kinds.
- The Wellcome Trust
The Wellcome Trust is an independent charity funding research to improve human and
animal health.
- The Marsden Fund
The Marsden Fund was set up to support excellence in research and researchers.
- Centre of Research Excellence Grant
- FORST
The Foundation for Research, Science and Technology invests in research, science
and technology (RS&T) on behalf of the New Zealand government.
- The National Research Centre for Growth and Development
The Centre combines skills and research from The University of Auckland incorporating
the Liggins Institute, Massey University, University of Otago and AgResearch Limited.
The Centre comprises 120 staff and students with recognised capabilities spanning
human genomics, biomedical science, mammalian physiology, endocrinology, neurobiology,
cell biology, systems biology and agricultural biotechnology.
