Graduate study in the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology usually requires
a background in advanced cellular and molecular biology, and/or biochemistry. If
this is not present, students are often required to complete a year of transitional
study in appropriate subjects at the Stage III BSc level prior to commencing graduate
study. Because entry into the graduate programmes is competitive, this year of transitional
study also provides the opportunity to demonstrate excellence. More information
on transitional requirements can be obtained from the
Graduate Studies Coordinator at the
Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology.
The Bachelor of Human Biology (Honours) is available to medical students who have
completed a BHB at The University of Auckland. It requires the equivalent of one full-time
