basis of academic merit and personal qualities exhibited during selection interview.
100 BPharm places will be available each year.
Applicants must be New Zealand or Australian citizens / permanent residents in order to be eligible to apply for entry.
All
short-listed candidates will be required to attend selection interviews at the faculty
during December and January each year. For further details, check

Students may apply under one of three application categories:
- School-leavers
School-leavers form the largest group of applicants. Up to 60 places will be offered
to school-leaver candidates in each intake.
NCEA
Students will be ranked on their
80 best credits at NCEA level 3 or higher over a maximum of five subjects. A
rank score of 220, with a minimum of 18 credits in Chemistry and 18 credits in Biology
at NCEA level 3 is required.
CIE
A rank score of 230, with Biology and Chemistry as required subjects (preferably
both at A level).
IB
Full IB Diploma with a minimum of 29 points.
These are the requirements for guaranteed entry, subject to
fulfilling the above requirements and completing a satisfactory interview.
English is not a stipulated NCEA level 3 subject, but the ability to communicate
well in written and spoken English is essential, both for selection and progress
through the course. If English is not your first language, it is important to note
that the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand will require proof of your competence
in English in order for you to register as a pharmacist. Applicants must meet the
NCEA Level 2 English Common Entry Standard.
